We’ve accomplished slightly bit extra remodeling in our house since our huge Grasp Toilet Remodel – this time, we re-surfaced our boring ‘ol fire – giving it a Fireplace Rework. Bring your fuel fireplace updated by subbing in concrete rock balls for the tried-and-true fake logs. Even changing or upgrading your fireplace surrounds can take on many ranges. The proprietor opted not to redesign the woodwork and not to use the fireplace due to the expense to remove and re-design the carpentry work.
Kristina Striukova used acrylic paint to transform the interior of the formerly all-white fireplace into an interesting scene – with decorative mural work above. Lastly, I built a mantel out of crimson oak, adding details of wood inlay banding and inset tiles from an artisan tileworks store in Detroit (Pewabic Pottery).
Mission: Reworking a hearth wall. A contemporary coat of white paint on the shelves and a coat of delicate beige for the bricks lend this facade fresh, cottage enchantment. Nestled between large, lengthy home windows and missing a mantel, this brick hearth struggled to stand out.
Built a custom mantel to fit around the hearth, which is the main focus of the room. Inside designer Susan Diana Harris, Allied ASID, is loopy about colour, and he or she used it to nice impact around this fireplace. Incorporating contemporary touches like granite or quartz with traditional stonework makes an outdated hearth really feel state-of-the-art.
Gone are the drab wall and white brick; in their place, a stone-veneer encompass and black wall add loads of drama, and a 3-dimensional artwork piece adds the completion. Often instances, older fuel fireplaces are in need of updating on account of outdated filaments or simply looking outdated.
